Creekfinding: A True Story by Jacqueline Briggs Martin

Imagine discovering that there had once been a creek where you stood, covered up by the desire for more tillable land. And then imagine that you could and would uncover it and bring it back to life! This book has my son saying, "Mom, what could I do, right now, to make our woods more natural?" This is a wonderful, and true story done with beautiful illustrations (although I do with just one little photo of the real place had been included). My only complaint is that there are these utterly unnecessary headings put on some of the pages. This isn't a book that needs them and the break up the flow of the story, I started ignoring them. Otherwise, this is a wonderful book.
