Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo

5.0

I really didn’t think I could like this book as much as I liked book one but I was wrong. All of the characters are still so good and even more haunted in this. The twists and turns involved in this book make it SO STRESSFUL and at times it was difficult to read. I think Bardugo really steps up her writing in this book in particular. She brings you into the difficult details and the nitty gritty. I thought it was interesting that THIS is the book where we see a lot of the backstory of the characters but strangely I think it worked very well even tho I would probably have to ask Bardugo why because even I was shocked at how much I was enjoying exposition in a second book lol. I loved all of these characters very much and everyone who has read the book knows I am very much in my feelings right now for various reasons. I know that Bardugo has considered writing a third book in a few years and I will be eagerly awaiting that and hoping that I will get to see my faves all over again.

Also I finally understand the hype behind the “Kaz staircase fight scene” it was absolutely exhilarating and I would read it again right now lol
