I loved this fun historical romance. The hero and heroine met alone on a balcony, fell in love, married and then lived unhappily ever after. Four years ago, a year after the wedding, James and Violet had a fight that cause the two to take separate rooms and live separate lives. When Violet receives a letter about James having an accident, she rushes to his side. She finds out that he didn't want her to know, and this rises her ire. She decides to give James a dose of his own medication. Thus begins a tit-for-tat game and friends take sides. Will pride and secrets keep the two from finding love again.

This historical romance is a lot of fun, and reminds me of Lisa Kleypas (The Wallflowers series). I enjoyed the banter between the Violet and James, but also found their separate background stories compelling. This is the perfect escape novel...I highly recommend this one for the summer!
