The Midnight Library by Matt Haig

Beautiful and hopeful. I didn't know what it was about going in. As someone who's struggled with depression for years, this book was very moving and encouraging.

Reading some of the other reviews- a common criticism seems to be this book is predictable, feel-good, corny. It is predictable I guess- you can easily imagine how it's going to end- but I think this book succeeded at what it set out to do. I wanted to hear it tell me reflections on the meaning of life and whether it's worth living, and it did that. Maybe those messages are obvious to some other people, but not to me. I appreciate this book a lot.
