A deliciously dark, albeit short, fantasy.
So Johann wasn’t just morally gray his soul was flat out black. And it made me like him as a character because I’ve never met a character so blatantly evil as him.
The world felt very Victorian era with hints of mainland European influence.
I loved the cat and mouse romance between Johann and Florian. It was actually quite entertaining to see Florian flustered.
I’m still not positive on Florian’s motives however.
