We Free the Stars by Hafsah Faizal

3.5!
I was looking forward to reading this since it came out. We've made our way back to the Zumra and them trying to save the world. I always liked this group of characters and personally LOVE the found family trope and it is what I adored about this bunch. I loved their relationship with each other and how it grew from book one. I love that we met and got to know other characters as well. This was definitely a read where I cared more for the characters than the plot lol.
Nasir and Zafira are the biggest idiots to ever idiot but my favorite thing about them is how much of a freak SIMP Nasir is for her and I just love it. Hafsah had him saying lines that made my heart melt, I loved it.
Altair is annoying but also the love of my life. Kifah was a badass and I adore her.
As for the plot, I thought the pacing was a little all over. Similar to my issue with book one, I felt like too much was going on and I had to go back and reread stuff because some of it didn't make sense. However, the ending did wrap up well. I mostly enjoyed the ending chunk of the book but chapter 113 made me DIE. Overall, a swell read. I enjoyed reading about this cast of characters.
