This was my third attempt at reading this book so I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. The book read as short stories rather than chapters as it spanned notable events in the two main characters lives. As these events entailed interactions characters with non- New York accents, a lot of dialogue was written phonetically which I found off putting and hard to read. Auntie Mame did sound like the gal you wanted to know and demonstrates Patrick’s unique upbringing.
Moderate: Antisemitism
