i was so looking forward to this book, it was why i even began the series in the first place. i mean, a cat dad who reads, wears glasses, can cook, cares for the environment, and has a big, fun family???

but it fell so unbelievably flat.

started skim reading at about 85%

i love me a good fake dating/marriage of convenience trope, but this was so unbelievably random. they went from coworkers with a one sided crush to confess their love to full blown engaged-to-be-wed-for-real to married (!!!!) in, what, 5 months??

there were no cute, fluffy moments to lead up to those love confessions, the relationship was built in some random desert across the country away from their normal lives, there were virtually no side character appearances, it was all so stop-start, so random, so sudden. the characters lacked any real personality,

and please never EVER make me read the words "i howl like a wolf, exaggerating the sound." again please. never. literally scarred.

also, ofc hes not gonna tell her he infertile after like a month of dating after being fake in love after being co workers??? why are they even talking about having kids if theyve only seen each other in a romantic sense for about a month??

it was also very girl falls first which isnt necessarily my cup of tea
