Macy McMillan and the Rainbow Goddess by Shari Green
3.0
This book is pretty heart-warming, but it's totally riding on the coattails of better books. If you take away all the references it's a much flimsier story.
Also, it's poetry that totally isn't poetry. Just sentences broken up into lines. It's actually just a short story that takes up 233 pages.
And the title totally fails to clue you in on what this book is about: a 12 year old making friends with an old lady. But this is forgivable because the old lady is the Rainbow Goddess and she's adorbs.
It's a decent story. I think it could have been even better, but it's still pretty good.
