Merry and Bright Christmas by Megan Ryder

3.0

Cute romance story, but not my favourite in the Betting on Christmas series.

I am not the biggest fan of second chance romances and Sadie and Jaxon did not really do it for me.
Personally I expected a lot more difficulty in getting back together (twice), but within a page or two it was, OK I forgive you.
Like ?????
Also, not sharing the internship with your significant other, when you both already have a trauma of being apart for a long time and then almost ghosting during a breakup? Yeah no. Instant ending of the relationship for that.

The secondary characters were fun and I would love to hang out in town with everyone!

I loved the nod to one of my fav cocktails, Bee’s Knees, and the way I cackled when the matchmaker revealed Sadie’s match… that moment was too funny!

Minus points for:
- missing one of your best friend’s weddings just because the brother is your ex (also somewhat forcing said best friend to have a destination wedding). Do not give them that power over you!!
- getting ahem very intimate during a boudoir shoot was probably not in the photographer’s package, even if it is one of your best friends (because I love my friends but ew)
- the dramatic reunion with half the town in the same room?? Ma’am is called emotional blackmail and it is a big bright red flag

Still, a cute quick easy romance that I did enjoy (I know how this review reads whoops).

Shoutout to the adorable cover!

I received an ARC of this book (thanks!) and these are my own opinions.
