Yesterday I was in need of a new novel and started going through the bottom of my library e-book wishlist. The books were added a few years ago, and by this point I have no memory of any details. The process didn’t start well, with two in a row that I abandoned.
Then I got to this. From the title, I assumed it was something sort of literary. Was not expecting YA, which I never read, much less a YA book with this bizarre storyline! But the zippy writing style and thoughtful descriptive details sucked me in from the first page, and I was immediately onboard for the journey.
By the end, I laughed out loud several times, cried a little, and left feeling a little warmer and fuzzier about life. Hard to ask for much more than that from a book.
