How To Be a Woman by Caitlin Moran

3.0

I was quite entertained by this book. Some chapters were very good - particularly the one on abortion. I liked her attitude of, if something doesn't work for you, don't do it, even if it supposedly something women do and love doing. But that is hardly original to her. Most chapters were superficial and chatty, which is fun enough. (I did read most of this on vacation.) I was left wishing for something a little meatier, as this was recommended to me as a modern feminist read. As a light silly memoir, I think it works pretty well. Some bits were laugh out loud funny. But some bits were strangely insensitive, like when she made a joke (JOKE!) about a child covered in napalm.
