This was another great recommendation from Heroes and Heartbreakers. This is a hard story to read because you come in with absolutely no idea how there’s ever going to be a happily ever after. Marc is serving a life sentence for murder and he kidnaps Sophie, a reporter from the I-Team, from jail to escape. But Marc’s reasons are a big driver for the storyline. For being on the run, there were actually a lot less close call captures than you would think. Marc and Sophie spend a lot of their time in hiding doing research and even though neither of them can figure out how they could have a future, they can’t help falling in love. I couldn’t help routing for them and hoping that they would be able to be happy. This story does also address some pretty tough issues in the detention system that I would hope are fictional but am pretty sure they are not. It shines a light on issues I never would have thought needed addressing but obviously they do. A great read with a beautiful love story that stretches over years.
