I Wanted It: A step-by-step weight loss guide for the business traveler by Caryn Gillen

5.0

Caryn is a fantastic, no-nonsense, fellow life coach whom I've recently gotten to know. She is the COO of a company here in Eugene that does health-related research, and she also has a private coaching practice helping successful, professional women, who have not focused on dieting throughout their lives, but are ready to be healthy and lose weight.

The title of this book is based on the way we excuse making bad health decisions by saying "I wanted it" or "I deserve it." Caryn focuses on changing the way we think about food and our bodies, but also gives practical tips about how to eat. My favorite of the tips is to plan ahead for what we will eat during the day. I realized that I kept thinking if I planned ahead, I needed to plan for a whole week, instead of allowing myself to just plan for one day. Planning for one day has relieved a bunch of chatter from my day and let me focus on what I want to get done.

Yay for Caryn! Highly recommend this book especially for the worksheets. But also, you should work with Caryn. She's awesome.
