The Queer Art of Failure by Jack Halberstam

2.0

This wanted to be a crossover book but failed to get out of academia from the language to the analysis arguing with other queer theorists with an assumption that readers knew those authors and their work too. I hadn't seen many of the famous pop culture movies referred to here, so that only added to the obfuscation. I no longer trust the person who recommended this book as a must-read. The premise was alluring, but ultimately, it didn't work for me.
