Here's my huge regret: I didn't reread book one before diving in. I was so unbelievably stoked to read this book, so I dived in and didn't quite realize how much I had forgotten until after I was like 10% percent in. I read the first 25% or so in hardcover and then switched to audio since I had a long drive ahead, and this is where my biggest problem came in.
I mentioned that there were a LOT of viewpoints. Which is fine; this is a large cast book. The problem arises from the fact that the way the narrator is identified is through the title (E.g. "Lin alone in the Citadel" or something like that). The audiobook does not give the chapter titles, so every time the chapter changed in the audio, I had to pause and figure out who was narrating. Since the chapters are so short, this happened every 5-10 minutes. I eventually abandoned my audio in favour of returning to the beautiful hardcover.
This isn't the book's fault, but I cannot help that it did influence my enjoyment. I'm hoping to do a re-read later this year and be a bit more prepared this time.
