Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky

5.0

This book is simply magic on paper. Don't let the rather slow beginning fool you - it initially did the people I've recommended this to, and my advice to you remains the same: read on for the experience of a lifetime.

Very few books give the kind of insight Crime And Punishment does into the mind of the anti-protagonist. Raskolnikov is an intellectual man, driven to murder by poverty, and attempts to reconcile this action to his moral compass by rationalising it. All of us have experienced this existential struggle, religious or not, at some point in our lives. Which is why you'll find this book leaves its indelible mark on you like no other.

Read it, mull on it, read it again and enjoy a better life!
