i ❤️.

this book had a romance subplot that wasn’t active until about half way through. the main plot was based off the mc, aideen, and her personal struggles as well as those around her. it had toxic parent relationships, alcoholism, toxic friendships, etc. that were all displayed and incorporated very well.

this story also had a great moral, which is   to not put more than you can handle on your plate. it seems silly, but i think a lot of people forget that.

the romance was perfect, not overwhelming, not underwhelming. aideen did not share her first kiss with the character until about ten pages from the end. HOWEVER, had the romance started any earlier it would’ve been weird and maybe too much. after they initiated the romance with the kiss it was not romance based for the remainder. which i loved because there were still things that needed resolved. if the author had focused the romance for the last ten pages it would’ve left a lot of things frayed.

overall i loved
