What Monstrous Gods by Rosamund Hodge

4.0

I was thoroughly captivated by this novel, which spins a unique twist on the Sleeping Beauty tale. Lia's journey, entwined with divine interventions and haunted by a vengeful spirit, kept me on the edge of my seat. The blend of dark fantasy with complex themes of faith and morality fascinated me. Although I craved more depth in the world-building, the character-driven plot and the intriguing dynamics between Lia and Ruven more than made up for it. The ending felt a bit predictable, but this book was a compelling read that beautifully woven together elements of fantasy, romance, and adventure.
