A Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shannon

5.0

There's truly no words to describe how masterful ADOFN was. Priory was excellent, but Shannon's confidence with the world and the magic system is INSANE in this one. Tunuva, Glorian, Dumai, Wulf, Siyu, Nikeya, ALL of them, the characterisation went above and beyond leaving most fantasy novels in the fucking dust. If sleep food and drink weren't an issue I wouldve read this in one sitting. There's gay people in there that make me go INSANE. 5 stars doesn't do it justice, favorite book of 2023 definitely, perhaps also of all time - it's rare for a sequel to be better but this one was absolutely everything.
