The Frontiersmen by Allan W. Eckert

3.0

Wow. The research and talent it must have taken to write this book is astounding. To take so much history and put it into a narrative form. Mr Eckert is incredible. I’ve always found the frontier and our history with Native Americans fascinating. The horrific things that man can do to man is so heartbreaking. Both sides were capable of truly horrific things and this book spares no details on what can be done and was done.
My only issues with the book is that it is hard to sit down and just crank out pages because it covers years and years of history, while following MANY different people. So it can be a bit choppy at times. Still a great book.
