I went into this book fully prepared to hate Jabez, but learning about his backstory softened my heart for him in ways I didn’t expect. Getting to see his layers and understand why he is the way he is made all the difference.
I also loved the introduction of a female Mavka! The shift in perspective and the exploration of her anatomy compared to the male Mavka added a fresh and intriguing twist to the story.
This series as a whole has been an incredible ride, and I have a special attachment to it since book one was my first dive into paranormal romance—it completely hooked me on the genre. Opal Reyne is a masterful storyteller, drawing you into her world and making you feel every emotion alongside the characters. This book, like the series, was an emotional rollercoaster, and I enjoyed every single moment of it.
