A classic in the horror genre for a reason. Differs starkly from the movie in several key ways, most notably that the reader spends a significant amount of time inside Jack’s head, witnessing his struggle with the Overlook and the evil energy within it. A dark and tense thrill ride, even when you know what’s coming.
