Set Me Free by Eva Gray
3.0
When I first read this series, I was in third grade and already an avid reader; however, I hadn't explored much outside of standalone novels. Tomorrow Girls, alongside the Shadow Children series by Margaret Peterson Haddix, changed that. I'd say that those two series catapulted my love of reading to new levels, and I became more adventurous with the content I consumed.
I currently work at a library in a tiny town, which means I sometimes end up with a lot of free time. I decided to use that time to revisit this beloved childhood series of mine, and overall, I'd say that it was pleasant.
My issues with it are small, considering it's aimed at children and not 22-year-olds like myself, but they still bothered me. Things were solved very conveniently at times, especially in this last installment, and I honestly think that there could've been another book exploring the future lives and dynamics of the characters-including those we don't get any closure for.
I had fun with it, though, and the second book in particular was surprisingly good. Maybe I'll revisit the Shadow Children series next. Can't beat nostalgia!
