I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy

"how could i not have known better? what a stupid idiot. how could i have not sensed what mom needed? that she needed all of us to be serious, to be taking the situation as hard as we possibly could, to be devastated. she needed us to be nothing without her"

i'm not rating this book because it feels odd to assign a star rating to something like this, but this was incredibly well written. no matter how hard the content was to read, her writing was so captivating that i couldn't make myself put it down unless i absolutely had to. you can tell writing is something she actually thoroughly enjoys; something she's doing for her. it's a long time coming that she gets what she wants, and i hope she's doing well wherever she is.
