Not Quite Forever by Catherine Bybee

5.0

I love Catherine Bybee! I've read all the Weekday Bride's books and all the Not Quite Books. Her writing is witty, charming, funny, emotional and addicting! Dakota is a romance writer and Walt is a doctor (who we've met before). They meet at a hotel where she's there for a romance convention and he for a medical convention. He noticed her the night before and was immediately taken with her so when they have been double booked into the same conference room he can't help himself but engage with her. Dakota is sassy, funny, smart and sexy. She puts him in his place so thoroughly that she's compelled to find him and apologize over a drink. Their "date" turns into a group gathering where we get to see Trent and Monica again, yay! They have amazing chemistry and they just click so they both decide to try to see each other when they get home. With their busy schedules it's hard to find time, but they slowly start a relationship and they both feel themselves falling fast. Walt is hot, amazingly smart and funny with out trying. Everything is going great, until it's not! Walt gets scared and runs, breaking her heart. Can he find her and get her back before it's too late. Will she be able to forgive him for walking out on her? This is such a wonderful story of finding love and having the courage to hold onto it! I laughed, I cried and I yelled! Don't miss this one.

"Damn." Trent just described the last week of his life. "I'm in."
Trent placed a finger under Walt's glass, helped him tip it to his lips. "Drink up, buddy...and welcome to the club."

"I'll see you tomorrow night."
"I'll look forward to it, Doctor."
"Dakota?" He caught her before she hung up.
"Yes?"
"It's Walt. Not Walter...not Doctor. Just Walt."
"Whatever you say…"
He waited, knew it was coming.
"Doctor" And then she hung up.
