Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty

5.0

I feel like this book achieved something that not many books are able to. In that it has so many different layers to it, on the surface it's one thing but the core of it is something else entirely. On the surface of this book it's about some of the struggles different types of mothers face. The core of this book however, is about the pieces of us we choose not to show others and that even though those pieces affect us in our everyday lives it does not stop us from being the strong empowered females that we are meant to be.
The characters were so lifelike in many ways and although I do not have children of my own I felt like I could relate to almost every single one of the three main moms. I almost forgot that there was a murder committed because of how much I enjoyed the humour and the characters. This is definitely one of those books I'd love to read more than once.
