The Other Queen by Philippa Gregory

4.0

I absolutely loved this. I bought it on a clearance rack last summer and forgot about it. Found it the other day and started reading. I couldn't put it down. I really enjoyed the way it was written from the three points of view. Bess Shrewsbury is one of the most interesting women of her time. If you get a chance, there have been specials on PBS about her house, Hardwick. This book doesn't discuss Hardwick, but I think it portrayed her as a woman ahead of her time. And if you read the book you get an idea of why she would have built Hardwick after losing her beloved Chatsworth to her husband the Earl.

I love the way Philippa Gregory makes history come alive and still stays so historically accurate.
