Four Past Midnight by Stephen King

4.0

The first time I picked up Four Past Midnight, I didn’t start reading it. I had been looking for a collection of short stories, and I wanted quick ones. Four Past Midnight’s four longer stories did not appeal to me. But now that I’ve finally picked it up, I can’t believe I didn’t think these stories would captivate me. I decided to look at it again because I had heard of “The Langoliers” before and had really wanted to read that specific story. And while “The Langoliers” was good, it paled in comparison to the three other stories I found in this book. Wow! Just wow. Everyone one of these short stories chilled me, enthralled me, and shook me. I can’t wait to pick up King’s other collections of not-exactly-short stories!

Four stars for the last story and four stars for the whole book as well!
