I haven't read these in ages, but I'm struggling with reading (still) so I thought I'd try something familiar. This was one of my very favorite books as a kid. I loved it so much that I recorded my own audiobook using cassette tapes. Those are long gone, but I still liked it quite a bit. As an adult reader my only hesitation with this and some of the others I'm reading from the series is a tendency toward a trope where villains are disfigured or "crazy." It's not something I ever noticed as a kid, but as an adult reader it lands a little differently now. I still thoroughly enjoyed this reread though, and I may try to read farther into the series than I managed when I was younger.
