I started this book looking for a sweet-ish romance, with a lot of trouble. I definitely got more than I was looking for with this one.
Both of the main characters are messed up in their own way.
Our Phoebe Is going to school, working, and raising her baby brother as her own child. All while she is also taking care of her alcoholic mother. She has a goal of completing school, grabbing her brother, and making a new life for them.
Then we have Nicholas. The stalker and Phoebe’s professor. He is obsessed with her. Following her, protecting her at all costs. The twisted part? Nicholas loves Phoebe, but he will never tell her.
Soon he resorts to black mailing her to get as close as he can. Making her “perform” for him. Doing “the no-no” wink wink. Which she ends up liking.
Something I liked about this book was the characters. Yes there was a lot of smut, and some really creative scenes. But the self growth of the characters, and development was big. This isn’t a story where one person starts one way and stays there. There is heartache and love, loss and gain. Almost all the characters start off at least a little better.
I did love what Nicholas did to his stalker. Ha! Stalker for the stalker. And Phoebe…. Well I won't say too much. But it was a scene I will not be forgetting.
Honestly I can’t say much more about this story, without giving things away. I can say I want to give it a 10/10 rating If you're looking for a stalker turned lover romance. Where a big story is in a short book. Then you just have to give “Obsessed” a try!
