The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah

5.0

Another amazing tearjerker novel by Kristin Hannah. Veering the focus on women who fought and survive the WW2. It reminded me a lot of A Call to Spy except with a touch of romance. I disagree to people who says the romance could've been thrown away, I think it was really important. It was the thing these people are fighting for, the flower in the ashes. But I agree it could've been fleshed out more, especially from the beginning.

I already know this novel is going to be adapted into a movie and with the Fanning sisters as the main cast. And OH MY GOD!!! They're going to be so perfect for this that I can't unsee it.

Honestly, I was going to give this 4 stars because it could've done so much more in the character department. NO, Chapter 38 did it for me, that was the cherry on top, the onion to my eyes. Somehow, I imagined it in my mind already, Elle Fanning looking at the mirror and...you know. GAH I'M SO EXCITED!
