Malcolm and Me by Ishmael Reed

5.0

There is so much more to this edition than the title implies. Absolutely no person or party is free from critique, including the author, himself. Reed has authentic insight into many multi-cultural topics, some of which he mentions briefly, such as art. This recording is less a story of Malcolm X than a lesson of how Malcolm's journey has impacted the world in race relations and how it has related to the author's own journey.

As someone who has only begun delving into the history of racism and multi-cultural history in recent years, I found this book, very thought-provoking. Highly recommend for others interested in a more in-depth understanding of multi-cultural history in the U.S.
