Devouring Flame by E.J. Russell

5.0

This was utterly adorable, and I devoured it in a day. Our Hero is a half-fire-demon tech expert named Smith who works for an event planning company called Enchanted Occasions, which caters to both magical and non-magical clients; their latest client: a convention of vampires gathering for their one-day-every-hundred-years feast. Complicating matters is a chance encounter with an old flame (heh), an ifrit (fire spirit) named Hashim, who has been enslaved by the evil owner of a carnival featuring an assortment of magical beings (including a super-endearing young minotaur named Rion, who I loved to bits).

Flirting, feasting, and (heh) some hot times follow. Oh, yeah, and the Chef is a goblin beserker. Can't wait to seek out more by the author -- her work is DELIGHTFUL.
