Come to Me, by Amy Bloom

3.0

One of the weirdest books I may ever have read; this is an anthology of stories that share a common theme of fetishes or unusual sex situations. These were uncomfortable situations, ones that felt uncommon and had me questioning the ethics behind them. However, Bloom writes well. She drew me in within pages, and showed her characters in a way that I was able to understand their emotions or in such a way that I sought to understand their emotions and motives behind their behaviors. I kept reading, which is perhaps one of the more surprising things to me, considering how out there and uncomfortable these sex situations were.

I went into this book totally blind, and therefore had no idea that this book had anything to do with sex. Unfortunately, I can’t say much more about the book without giving elements away, but steer clear of this book if incest makes you uncomfortable. There are very questionable sex situations throughout each story, no avoiding it if you choose to pick up this book.
