This is fast-paced, violent, but surprisingly sweet and homely too. Despite how quick this book is, Claire Kent did an amazing job of making the MCs come to life.

Although I wasn't sure about Jackson at the start, it's quickly made obvious that Faith is the only one blind to how he feels. Even with the lack of communication on his part, I never found myself frustrated because it did seem very like his character to not want to put himself out there first in a vulnerable position, especially with his upbringing.

Then there was Faith, who despite being overly sweet (something I find usually gives us Mary Sues), was strong and realistic and vulnerable in just the right ways.

It was easy to understand the dynamic between these two, and how they worked for one another.
