Iโm not reading these in order, which is good, I may have given up on them at this book. But I have gotten to really like Barbara Havers and I like the St. Jameses. Lynley has never been a favorite among mystery characters, but good grief in this Helen is a selfish idiot. She inserts herself into a stakeout - for closure?! If sheโs as smart as claimed she would know what an absolutely mind-bogglingly stupid and unprofessional thing that is to do. And Lynley lets her? And then blames himself when she hollers out and spooks the suspect?! He has to go apologize to her? Sweet baby Jesus.
