An Anonymous Girl by Sarah Pekkanen, Greer Hendricks

5.0

I acquired an ARC of this book from my job but it stayed on my shelves for quite a while before I picked it up. I had not read the authors' prior book, but my absolute love for this one will make me seek it out sooner than expected.

As a money-motivated person myself, I found myself connecting with the main character, Jess, on more occasions than not. Jess is family-oriented and values how many could change their lifestyles. She makes decisions that may be rash, but ultimately she finds herself young and able to make those decisions with the knowledge that she has time later for herself.

I avoided a lot of information about what this book was about prior to reading it, and I think that really helped with my enjoyment of the plot. There are pieces on information in the summary here on Goodreads as well as the dust jacket that really spoil major plot-points that were shocking to me upon reading.

I think this book helped me focus in on one of my book interest: psychology and medicine in thrillers. I like the aspect of a medical professional assisting in a dangerous plotline in a book in a way that isn't expected. I look forward to reading 'The Wife Between Us' even though I know it has a very different story to tell.
