A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin
5.0
I feel like I'm part of something that I was missing out on before finishing this book.
I don't really have too much to say other than I loved it. It never felt slow or too long, which is impressive considering its length. I haven't really delved into the realm of fantasy books very much because I usually end up putting them down after a few pages, but this was different. The writing was well done, the characters are great (even the evil ones), and the story was engrossing.
There were some parts that were kind of corny, like Arya wanting her brother to "muss her hair" (I swear I read that 3 or 4 times at different points in the novel), or some of the frankly cliche characterizations, but they are easy enough to overlook.
Great book!
