The Forces of Love by Dani McLean

4.0

I won The Forces of Love in a giveaway and honestly wasn't expecting much. Thinking it'd be a quick, easy palette cleanser to help with my book slump, I picked it up to read this past week and I'm so happy because I actually enjoyed this so much!!

I haven't read any of the other Movie Magic Novellas but found that the only time I needed to know anything about the others was in the epilogue. Luckily the whole rest of the book was focused on Sophie and hottie Mitch Langford - seriously he is so hot and nerdy and knows 90s boy bands and can sing MMMbop!!

I loved Sophie so much and could relate to her and her struggles with trusting people - even though she was kinda rude about things but I didn't hold it against her because I've done the same thing. Mitch was so kind to her and really took his time and didn't force her into anything she didn't want and I wish he was my bestie so he could help me with my issues!

Everyone lives in a place called Chance which is just the cutest and really helped me to keep an open mind with the imaginary friends. I was really worried I was going to have to DNF the book because of them but I kept telling myself to just enjoy it and I ended up wishing they were actually featured more! Overall, The Forces of Love was a really cute book and I hope to read the other ones in 2024!
