The mention of The Haunting of Bly Manor in the summary is spot on. If you loved that, you’ll love this. I haven’t read House of Salt and Sorrow to speak on that.
I really enjoyed this book. I liked the gardening scene. I thought it was really cute. The character dynamics were interesting and every one of the characters were dealing with grief in very different ways. There was also a twist I didn’t see coming, and I love when that happens. I gave this a four instead of five star for two reasons. I wished it had been a little creepier overall, and during the middle of the book the story felt like it was dragging a bit.
Side note: I was getting increasingly worried that Marin was going to be the illegitimate daughter of the Lovelace girls’ father. I was going to be very upset if that happened.
