Love in a Pickle by L.B. Dunbar

4.0

Off the bat, I have to say that I am a fan of anything by LB Dunbar.  I  love her writing and the fact that her characters are almost always 40+ and not immature twits lol. Love In a Pickle was another winner for me.  Scotia is known in Green Valley for let's just say, not being very nice, so I was very curious as to how her story would be handled. LB did a wonderful job of letting us see behind Scotia's metaphorical self-protective mask to see who she really was behind the hurt and loneliness. I will say I liked her character a lot more than Chester's character. He did grow on me over time, but it took awhile. By the end I loved them together, but I wanted to smack him upside the head a time or two along the way lol. I think his character is the main thing keeping me from rating it higher than 4 stars to be honest.  Overall though I really liked it and look forward to more LB Dunbar and more Green Valley stories.
