Jim Henson: The Biography by Brian Jay Jones
5.0
While I knew of some of Jim Henson's work, there was so much more. This book takes you through his motivations throughout his life and how his many projects came (or didn't come) to be. It also provides unique insight by bringing together his thoughts via interviews prior to his death, the journal he kept throughout his life, and interviews with those around him. The book also provided a look into his infectious personality, and I felt that this came through in the writing.
It's unfortunate that he died just as technology began to play a larger role in films and television,as it's apparent that he saw the potential of it, and we're left wondering what could've been. This is a well-written biography that left me feeling like I knew and understood him, and that's all that can really be asked.
