“He was the light. My light. The shining star that chased away the dark.”

Sable Peak was such an incredible conclusion to this series. Some series drop the ball with the last book, but Devney Perry didn’t miss with this one. I just felt like I got closure on all fronts - both Mateo and Vera’s stories. They weren’t my favorite couple in the entire series, but this one was done so well!!

My only complaint is the initial pov choice with solely Vera’s pov for 100+ pages. I understand the stylistic choice because it really sells the unrequited love that Vera holds for Mateo. However, I just really wish I could have seen Mateo’s experiences with fatherhood from his pov and firsthand.
