Emergency Contact by Mary H.K. Choi

4.0

Emergency Contact was just the contemporary I needed to get me back into reading. This story is about Asian-American Penny and finding an unlikely emergency contact who she can tell anything and everything with no awkwardness because it’s only texting.

This gave me Fangirl vibes because of Sam working in a coffee shop, the college aspect, and how the MC is awkward and different than the normal MCs we see in YA.

This was so enjoyable and I loved how real it was, that was probably my favorite part, it wasn’t glossed over! I would highly recommend this book!!
