Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great by Judy Blume

3.0

Another [b:blast from the past|8831|Blast from the Past|Ben Elton|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1165765388s/8831.jpg|11742]. Nowhere near as good as Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, but still entertaining. Blume does an amazing job of getting the voice of children and rereading this really took me back to my childhood. Sheila isn't really a likable character--she's scared of everything (dogs, thunderstorms, the dark, spiders, swimming, etc.), but she won't ever admit to being afraid and instead covers it up with bravado. I eventually just found her annoying. Nevertheless, she does triumph in the end and it's a good lesson for kids.
