I was so happy when I saw this was finally off the 7-day check out shelf at the library! I tore through this book and read it in 2 nights (~6ish hours total read time)
Bad Cree follows Mackenzie, a Cree 20-something who is having strange dreams and is being followed by a murder of crows.
It is a story about family, grief, and the lies we tell ourselves to survive. The novel is packed to the brim with legends and folklore, family, and a creeping sense of dread. Also, to my knowledge, not a single line in this novel is said by a man.
My biggest qualm with this book is the ending. I liked the way it ended, but the ending felt like it came up quickly and the final scenes were really short compared to the rest of the book.
