A Song of Wraiths and Ruin by Roseanne A. Brown
2.0
I really wanted to love A Song of Wraiths and Ruin, but I ultimately found it to be an incredibly frustrating book to get through. As far as I'm concerned, this book's biggest downfall is the fact I thought that Karina and Malik were both rather annoying characters, each in their own way. That being said, Malik was my favorite of the two characters. The romance between the two of them was also handled very poorly; especially given the whole insta-love nature of the whole thing, and Malik's younger sister, Nadia's, life was also at stake throughout the whole process. Despite all of the frustrating aspects that I think that this book has, I do want to read the sequel, A Psalm of Storms and Silence, since the series is only a duology, and I was admittedly incredibly intrigued how things were left with Malik at the end of A Song of Wraiths and Ruin.
My rating/score: 2 1/2 out of 5 stars on Goodreads' rating system / 5 out of 10 on my own personal scoring system.
