Listen. Everyone says that Devil in Winter and Marrying Winterbourne are Kleypas' sexiest books. While I would definitely say that the romance in those two is better than the romance in Lady Sophia's Lover, this one is absolutely her sexiest. My mouth dropped open multiple times, and I've read a LOT of smutty historical romance.
That being said, I did not like Cannon very much. He was bossy and honestly kind of an ass. His main redeeming quality for me was his surprising creativity in the bedroom. I mean, come on, I was not expecting that one. Loved it though. So much.
I did predict that though. Gave me big Victorian Rebels vibes, even though I'm pretty sure that was written after this book. Too lazy to look it up.
Anyways, absolutely one of my favorite reads of this year. Shout-out to LK for still surprising me after 20-some books. Can't wait for the next one!
