The Mystery of Mrs. Christie by Marie Benedict

3.0

I did enjoy this book even though I didn't find it to be the great mystery that Agatha eludes to at the end. I found the storytelling interesting but also somewhat infuriating. Archie is the most unlikable character I've read in... possibly forever. Agatha's care and fawning over her husband, even at the expense of a good relationship with her daughter, is maybe classic of the time, but Archie's disregard for her and his self absorbed attitude certainly is not. Yet leave it the clever writer of mysteries to turn the tables on him and make his idyllic world come crashing down. I was a little confused on the timeline Agatha summarizes at the end, as her attempts to salvage the marriage seemed genuine and not part of a carefully plotted plan, but overall it was an entertaining read that captivated my attention.
